Integration of third-party hardware (controller, card reader)

Growth or changes in your company can have a huge impact on your access control system. It is possible that you need to add new doors to the system or increase your level of security to comply with current regulations and laws. Since many access control systems are proprietary (closed) systems, the implementation of changes is often very expensive and technically not feasible.

Investing in a completely new system then seems to be the only option. Often times, hardware that actually still works excellently has to be replaced. That would be a shame! This is why it is possible with the Nedap system to take over certain third party access controllers via the Device Integration Protocol (DIP). In this way, you can continue to make optimal use of the investments you have made and, if necessary, implement a gentle migration into more open system worlds.
